Tobacco Center Mission
The New York State Department of Health Tobacco Control Program funds the Tobacco Cessation Center at Arnot Health. The vision of the Tobacco Control Program is for all New Yorkers to live in a tobacco free society. The mission of the Tobacco Control Program is to reduce morbidity and mortality and alleviate the social and economic burden caused by tobacco use in New York State. There are six goals of the Tobacco Control Program and they are:
The Tobacco Cessation Center at Arnot Health serves Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben and Yates counties using evidence-based resources and programs to develop systems to address tobacco use in a cost-effective approach. The center works with hospitals, healthcare practitioners including but not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, certified nurse midwifes, dentists, dental hygienists, and podiatrists, as well as healthcare agencies and educators |
