Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary Celebrates 26 Years of Orchids and Candlelight

The Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary welcomes the support of continuing and new hosts for the 26th annual Orchids and Candlelight fundraising event to be held throughout 2016. The community-driven event has raised over 1 million to benefit Falck Cancer Center and cancer care patients and services at Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
About Orchids and Candlelight
Members of the community have individually hosted a variety Orchids and Candlelight parties from casual to festive, including brunches, dinners, masquerades and picnics. Each host comes up with their own party ideas and guest list. Attendees are asked to donate a minimum of $25 per person to support cancer care. Registered hosts and their guests are also invited to a gala reception which will take place this year at the Elmira Country Club on Saturday, April 23.
“Cancer has touched almost every family in our region,” said Carol Balmer, Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary President. “The Auxiliary is passionate about helping to maintain advanced services for our cancer patients. Orchids and Candlelight is a fun and easy way to make a meaningful difference for our neighbors impacted by this disease.”
Arnot Ogden Medical Center Auxiliary support has provided for many cancer care enhancements at Arnot Ogden Medical Center and Falck Cancer Center. The following is a partial listing of the items and programs that have benefitted from the generosity of community support through events like Orchids and Candlelight:

  • Five handicap-accessible vans
