Arnot Health and Tanner’s P.A.W.S. give Sue and her four-legged friends a second chance to enjoy life.
Arnot Health Total Joint Advantage Program offers a range of treatment options so people with joint pain can resume an active lifestyle and regain their independence. Founded by general orthopedic surgeons Drs. William C. Bishop and Mark Gibson, our program builds on their legacy of quality and changes lives.
To help us tell this story, we featured knee replacement patient Sue Pierce in our TV commercial. She fosters dogs awaiting adoption and knows the difficulty and disappointment that results when bad knees make walking too painful to bear. With the help of her four-legged canine co-stars from Tanner's P.A.W.S., a no-kill shelter in Corning, NY, Sue demonstrated how the excellent orthopedic care she received at Arnot Health (www.arnothealth.org/total-joint-advantage-arnot-health) had made a world of difference for her, and for those who count on her every day.
"I love fostering the dogs, but it kept getting harder for me to do with bad knees," she said. "I'm grateful to Dr. Bishop, my surgeon, and the entire rehabilitation team because now I can walk again and keep up with my friends. I feel great!"
The ending to Sue’s story has another happy twist: Tanner’s P.A.W.S. found forever-homes for all three of the dogs! Sue’s daughter, Christie Speciale, founded the non-profit animal rescue, shelter, education, and advocacy organization to help animals in need and to save as many lives as possible.
