The radiologic technology program at Arnot Ogden Medical Center is a twenty-three month program beginning in August. You'll attend classes Monday through Friday with no classes nights, evenings, weekends or holidays. Class hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. depending on the scheduled day of the week.
The liberal arts classes taught by Corning Community College (CCC) are in the Elmira area. There is the option for some of the CCC classes to be taken as an online class. The radiology program adapts for the CCC classes so the student is not scheduled over eight hour a day. Students may have to attend a lab on CCC campus for Anatomy and Physiology.
The clinical assignments are done on a rotation basis. Clinical rotations for first year students start approximately six weeks from the start of the program. Clinical is scheduled 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with a thirty minute lunch. There is an afternoon rotation 1:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Seniors are clinical 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will spend rotations in specialty areas (M.R.I., Ultrasound, etc.).
The JRCET defines the operational hours of traditional programs as Monday- Friday, 5:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.
