The Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing, part of Centralus Health, is proud to announce the launch of its new Evening Associate Degree in Nursing Program, beginning in Fall 2026. As the only evening nursing program available in the area, this new pathway is designed specifically to meet the needs of working adults, parents, career-changers, and other nontraditional students who require flexibility without compromising academic quality or clinical excellence.

The new program reflects the same admission standards as the school's established daytime track and includes 21 general education credits and 39 nursing credits. Its thoughtfully structured curriculum spans 33 months, encompassing 106 weeks of classroom and clinical instruction with one week breaks between courses – every six to eight weeks. The program will launch with two cohorts, offering options tailored to students at different points in their educational journey. Those still needing general education credits will focus on those courses during the first year, while applicants who have already completed the general education requirements will advance directly into nursing coursework in a small, focused cohort capped at five students.

To ensure accessibility for students balancing work and family commitments, all nursing classes will be held in person on the Arnot Ogden Medical Center campus during evening hours, approximately four nights per week for four to five hours each night. General education coursework will be delivered through Elmira College, with evening courses offered online to support additional scheduling flexibility.

In addition, sponsorship opportunities may be available for eligible students, helping to reduce financial barriers for those pursuing a nursing career.

"The launch of our evening program represents a major step in expanding access to nursing education for individuals who cannot pursue traditional daytime coursework," said Emily Grose, Interim Director of the Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing. "We are proud to offer a flexible, high-quality pathway that maintains the academic rigor and clinical excellence Arnot Ogden Medical Center School of Nursing is known for. This program opens doors for community members who have long aspired to become nurses but needed a schedule that fits their lives."

Applications for the evening program are open now; the deadline to apply is April 19, 2026. Application materials and additional program information can be found at arnothealthson.org
