Psychiatric Care and Mental Health Services

Arnot Health provides quality, compassionate care for those in crisis in our community. Our in-patient treatment center is the region's referral center for adults who feel like doing harm to themselves or to others as a result of depression, substance abuse or other mental health conditions. Our intense treatment program requires a short stay at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira.

Who We Are

Our professional staff of psychiatrists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, case managers, and counselors work together as a team to bring relief. We assess the nature of the crisis and tailor an effective treatment plan to stabilize your condition. Each patient has a case manager to work to ensure continuity of care and a connection to the community for your recovery.

How We Help

Patients actively participate in a range of individual and group therapy activities to prepare to return to community life. We help you develop the skills you need to cope with stressful situations, including:

  • Stress management
