Knowing whether or not you are HIV positive is the best way to protect the health of you and your family. Early diagnosis helps you get the care you need and protect others. Testing and counseling are available in both Elmira and Ithaca.
Get the Results in 20 Minutes
The HIV Primary Care Clinic offers free, confidential HIV testing in a private setting. The rapid test is a finger stick test that shows a preliminary result in 20 minutes. A positive test is confirmed with a serum blood draw. A prevention coordinator will meet with you before and after the test to help you understand your risks and what the results of the test mean.
Managing Risk
Our counselors can help assess your risk and determine if you are eligible for a pre-exposure prophylaxis (PREP) prescription to reduce the risk of contracting HIV.
