Dr. Edward Joseph Grandt is well known in our community for his 40-year career as a physician specializing in obstetrics, gynecology and infertility treatments. Over the course of his career at the Ivy OB/GYN center, he delivered over 8,000 babies! Dr. Grandt was the past President of the Arnot Ogden Medical Staff, the long-time chief of the OB/GYN Department and served on the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation Board. The newly remodeled Maternity Department at AOMC bears his name to celebrate his many achievements and notable contributions.
During his career, he established the “Edward J. Grandt Obstetrics and Gynecology” fund through the Arnot Health Foundation to support improvements and education surrounding women’s health. Locally, he served as a catalyst for the development of the Planned Parenthood center in Elmira and nationally, he participated in research studies for the modern birth control pill.
